The most influential people in anyone’s life are parents. That influence can be positive or negative. It can be present or absent. Regardless of how involved, or how removed parents are from their children, the influence is felt. An important job of the church, that can often be overlooked and neglected, is to come alongside parents, assist and equip them in their parenting journey. Families are an important part of the family of God.
In episode 4 of the BeLED Family Podcast, Dr. Ron Hunter, Executive Director & CEO of Randall House Publisher, and D6 Conference Director, will share his expertise on the state of parenting in church. In the podcast, we covered a range of topics. In the first part of this two part podcast, Dr. Hunter will talk about the importance of marriage in parenting, and what the priorities should be. He will spend time discussing the delegation problem parents have. He will share some statistics that will help us get a better understanding of the state of parenting in the church. He will finish part one by sharing how churches can equip their parents, and ask the question, “Do you want to be the thermometer that reflects the temperature of the culture, or do you want to be the thermostat that sets the temperature of the culture?” It is important to understand our influence, and how to use that to strengthen our families.
